The best season for reading is coming in Japan!?
Let’s read English-Japanese book!

It’s another season for reading, so-called the “best season” for reading in Japan.
Eco-cen has been open for last 2 months, yet many of you may tend to “stay home” and start getting bored due to COVID19.
Under such circumstance, how about studying English-Japanese by reading a book from our library!?

Today I would like to share few books which has in both English and Japanese.
So, you can learn the environmental aspects and language by reading the books!!

For Children: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

This is a World-Famous book!
Some of you may recognize this book and it may remind you of your childhood.
The three-dimensional tunnel book let you learn the lifecycle of butterfly.

Let’s think about other organisms’ lifecycle!

For Adult: Silent Spring

This is another a world-famous yet very serious book.
Biodiversity and Ecology may be the key words you would learn from the book.
When you read this book, you can literary feel that everything on the earth is connected to each other.

Have you thought or seen “Ocean Debris”??

Now we have a seasonal exhibition “Museum of Ocean Debris” at Eco-cen on the 2nd floor.

読書の秋がやってきました!? 日・英で書かれた本を読んでみてはいかがでしょうか!

今年も読書にピッタリの季節がやってきました。
エコセンは開館してから2か月になりますが、今年はコロナの影響で「ステイホーム」中の方も多いかと思います。

もう「やることないな~」なんて思っている方、エコセンでは同じ内容でも日本語と英語等で書かれた本があります。両方を読み比べてみると、新たな発見があるかもしれませんね!

今日は、そんな中からいくつか紹介したいと思います。
英語や日本語を学びながら、環境についても色々と考えてみてください。

【こども用】はらぺこあおむし

世界的に有名な本ですね!
これまで、60以上の言語に翻訳されていますが、エコセンでは日本語・英語・中国語の本が配架されています。

表紙を見て、幼少のころを思い出す方も多いかと思います。
穴の開いた仕掛絵本を通して、チョウの一生を学ぶことができます。
他の生き物の一生についても考えてみましょう!

【大人用】沈黙の春

こちらも、世界的に大変有名な本です。
生物多様性や他の生き物の生態について考えさせられる本です。
また、「地球上の生き物は全て繋がっている」と改めて感じさせられる本ですね。

 

海ゴミ」って見たことありますか?

最近、TVや新聞で取り上げられることも多い「海ゴミ」ですが、現在、エコセン2階の企画展示コーナーで「海ごみミュージアム」を開催中です。
